A father on evening speech games with his toddler
Transcript
Hi, I wanted to take a quick moment to talk to you about Speech Blubs. My 23-month-old and I play every weeknight, and she absolutely loves it. I have a reminder notification on my phone at 6 p.m., and when I tell her it's time to play her game, she runs and gets up on the couch to play. She's that excited for it.
She hasn't had much experience using touch screens before now, so it's been a little bit of a struggle to start for her to get used to it. She often presses her finger and knuckle against the screen at the same time, pressing multiple places, but that's okay. She's getting better.
She does best with the "guess the sound" or "guess the word" games. She hears the sound, repeats it back, and then tells me what animal or object makes the sound. She's coming along really well with the animal noises, and the train was a surprising one that she does really well with too. The bonus game, pop the balloons or touch the stars, is really good. It's helping her coordination and understanding of the touchscreen, and her ability for this is really improving each play.
Overall, I'd recommend the app. It's good fun for her. She's learning new words, sounds and names of objects, and her pronunciation of words she already knew is definitely improving.
