Regional Center of Orange County Early Start requires Orange County residence and assesses program eligibility. For preschool and school-age questions, confirm the school district serving your home. The City of Irvine identifies IUSD as well as schools overseen by Tustin, Saddleback Valley and Santa Ana districts. IUSD has a Child Find and early intervention route for its families; a village name alone cannot establish which district is responsible. CHOC is a separate regional clinical option with its own referral and authorization process.
Heritage Park and University Park reopened as Irvine Public Library branches in August 2025. Katie Wheeler transferred to the city at the start of 2026 and reopened as its third branch on March 7. The guides use these actual branches as nearby options rather than inventing a library in each village. Check the current city branch page for hours, access and family events before planning a visit.
Irvine’s official directory lists community parks and centers for Northwood, Woodbury, Portola Springs, Turtle Rock and other areas. The Westpark guide uses San Marco, which is listed as a neighborhood park. The city says neighborhood parks generally do not have on-site staff and their picnic areas follow separate rules. Use the exact facility listing when checking programs or arranging an event, and choose a short ordinary visit for everyday conversation with your child.
