Speech and Language Therapist, Owner of Toucan Communicate

I am an experienced Speech and Language Therapist based in the East Midlands, UK with over 17 years experience working with children. I specialise in working with mainstream children presenting with a range of different speech, language and communication difficulties including: speech delay and disorder; language delay and disorder; social communication difficulties; selective mutism. I work with children age 2-16 in environments most appropriate for their needs including at home or in school or nursery. I provide assessment, direct therapy and advice as required which is bespoke for each individual child. I also provide an assessment, therapy and training service to schools. I have worked for a variety of different NHS Trusts over my career as well as running my own independent practise, Toucan Communicate. I am now focussed entirely on my independent practise which provides me with the opportunity to provide individualised input as needed for each child I am fortunate to work with. I believe that effective communication is key to a rich and fulfilling life, and all children should be given the opportunity to communicate to the best of their ability. Outstanding, evidence-based speech and language therapy is an excellent tool to help children to unlock their voice so they can be heard throughout their life.
